Specifications

We produce to your specification

Our blends are produced against the written specifications of humanitarian nutrition programs, including the WFP Food Technical Specifications and UNICEF specifications, and aligned with the guidelines of the programs they are used in.

Within those specifications, we stay in close contact with our customers to keep improving the product together, from formulation to packaging.

Packaging

Four points of control in the grain chain

We control every step from raw material selection to container loading on one site. Four of them are key to a blend that meets specification, every time.

  1. Raw materials
Every raw material is tested against European and client-specific contaminant limits before intake, and tested again on delivery. Suppliers are carefully selected and reassessed regularly.
  2. Process
Extrusion makes the grain digestible, ensures microbiological safety and improves the bioavailability of essential nutrients. It is the core of our operations and is monitored continuously. Finished products are verified in our own laboratory, with results benchmarked against an accredited lab, and strict hygiene zoning protects every stage of production.
  3. Fortification
Whether it is a defined premix to WFP specification or one tailored to your program, every delivery is tested on all active ingredients before intake and stored in a specially conditioned warehouse. Dosing accuracy is verified in our own laboratory, because we treat correct dosing as a matter of food safety, not just quality.
  4. Packaging
Packaging materials are checked on arrival, and every packaging run is tested, so each bag protects the product as it should. Blends are packed in robust 1.5 kg alu-coated PET/PE bags, 9 per cardboard box, with a validated 18-month shelf life.

Traceability and documentation

Every batch, on paper

We maintain full traceability from raw material intake to finished batch, in both directions. Every batch can be released with the documentation your program requires:

  • Certificate of Origin
  • Certificate of Production
  • Certificate of Quality Assurance
  • Health Certificate
  • Certificate of Shelf Life
  • Non-GMO and radiation-free declarations
  • Halal certificate
  • And more

Program-specific quality documentation is available on request.

Oversight

Open to verification

As a Belgian food producer we operate under the permanent oversight of FAVV, the federal authority responsible for food chain safety, which inspects our site and our systems. Our certification is maintained through regular third-party audits, and we welcome customer audits as well.

Beyond that, verification is always possible. If your program requires inspection, sampling or analysis by an independent party before shipment, we are happy to accommodate it.

Continuous improvement

The standard keeps rising, and so do we

Requirements in humanitarian nutrition have tightened considerably over the past decade, and rightly so. We have invested to stay ahead of them: upgraded raw material intake and cleaning, reinforced production zoning, improved extrusion and increased capacity.
